The Rainy Delivery

March 14th, 2023

It all started in my parents living room. Me and my Dad picked my first couch up together. I cleaned it the next day, listed it, then I was delivering in the rain the next night. The customer helped me unload it. As I pulled off with a few hundred bucks in profit, I knew there was something here.

Storage Locker Season

April 26th, 2023

After using my parents living room to store and sell a few couches out of, it was time to get some more space. Just the next month, with my Dad along my side once again, we walked in to the Extra space storage in Fenton to sign off on my first storage unit. Eventually, this new 10x20 wasn’t going to cut it. I needed more space so I moved into a 10x40. Then I rented a second 10x40. A few months later, another 10x40 became available so I moved into a third unit.

The Highway Incident

It started off as a normal day for me picking up another couch in my pick up truck. I met with the seller, loaded the couch, strapped it off, and off I was. As I merged onto the highway, it wasn’t long until I heard a “Click”. I suddenly looked in my mirror and saw that my ratchet strap had came loose and a piece of the couch flying off my truck. Luckily it slid perfectly on the shoulder and no one was hurt. After that day, I could not seem to haul a couch without my heart racing, constantly checking my rear view mirror if it was still strapped to my truck. I knew I couldn’t do this for long. I either had to change something or stop this “side hustle” all together. So this box truck was purchased to take things to the next level and to safely haul couches around St. Louis.

The Couch-Cleaner Thief

October 3rd, 2024

I learned quick that I was going to need to hire help with couch cleaning. So I did just that and it went well for a good couple of months. It really helped me focus on getting my hands on more couches! Until I made the mistake of hiring the wrong person.. After a misunderstanding and a disagreement in pay, she snuck into our storage unit one night, stole hundered’s of dollars worth of tools and equipment. If you are wondering what that picture is, to be honest, I don’t really know what it is either. But she left this drawing on one of our couches before leaving. And she didn’t stop there. She made her way to our box truck, and stole $300 worth of cash that I had in there to pay for couch pick ups. It was hard to accept the situation but I didn’t let it stop me. I analyzed my mistakes and took it as a learning experience.

The Warehouse Season

Almost exactly a year later, we moved on to better things.

But from working out of storage lockers, I learned that cleaning a couch in an outdoor storage unit during the winter time was not an easy task. It was another one of those decisions. You either level things up or quit. But I really only ever considered one of those options. So October 1st, the lease started of our current warehouse in Pacific, Missouri! 3,000 sqft, our own bathroom, and most importantly, a heater! Come stop by 😁
